As part of the Evening of Geography in Augsburg, the Scientific Advisory Board of the new Geography Connect Convention (GCC) presented the official logo of the format for the first time. This premiere also marked the launch of a new, more dialogue-oriented conference concept designed to particularly promote networking, innovation, and the visibility of geography.

In addition, the Advisory Board announced the date and venue: the first GCC will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2026 in Osnabrück. The location was chosen for its strong geographical academic community, excellent infrastructure, and openness to new conference formats.

With the presentation of the logo, date, and venue, an important milestone has been reached. Additional program details will follow in the coming months.
